DSP (Interiors) was appointed to deliver a full turnkey design and fit-out for Elevator Equipment Ltd, transforming a vacant industrial unit at Gorse Hill Industrial Estate into a modern headquarters designed to support operational efficiency, customer service and future growth.
Elevator Equipment is a leading UK supplier of lift parts and products, operating as a one-stop shop with a large stockholding and next-day delivery capability. As the business continued to grow, it required a new facility that could bring together production, storage, customer-facing functions and high-quality office accommodation under one roof.
Our role was to create a fully integrated environment that balanced operational performance with a professional and welcoming workplace for both staff and visitors. The design incorporated bespoke features throughout, including a dedicated trade counter, production area, mezzanine floor and first floor office block housing a boardroom, open-plan breakout space and modern welfare facilities.
Our team worked closely with Elevator Equipment throughout the entire process, from initial concept and space planning through to final delivery. Acting as both principal designer and contractor, we managed all elements of the project including building control, mechanical and electrical works, and bespoke interior finishes. Every detail was considered to ensure the new facility reflects Elevator Equipment’s brand identity, operational needs, and commitment to quality.
The Brief
The brief was to create a future-proof headquarters that balanced operational performance with a professional and welcoming working environment.
Key requirements included:
- Efficient production and storage areas
- A customer-facing trade counter
- Modern office, breakout and welfare facilities
- A layout capable of supporting continued business growth
The project also needed to be delivered within a 12-week programme, requiring careful coordination, early design decisions and a fully integrated delivery approach.
Our Solution
DSP delivered the project on a turnkey basis, taking responsibility for the design and delivery from start to finish. This approach meant decisions could be made quickly and with confidence, keeping the project aligned to budget, programme and the day-to-day needs of the business.
We developed a highly efficient ground floor layout incorporating production space, office accommodation and a dedicated trade counter. The layout was designed to support clear workflows between operational and customer-facing areas. To maximise storage capacity, a purpose-built mezzanine floor was installed, increasing usable space without compromising circulation or safety. A fire-rated compartment wall was installed to enclose the newly constructed first-floor office block which provides high-quality office, boardroom, breakout and welfare facilities.
Throughout the project, our in-house team coordinated all mechanical and electrical services, alongside building control and regulatory compliance, ensuring quality standards were maintained while keeping the programme on track.
